Resumo:
Social differences between men and women are not biological and reproduce centuries of male domination. History was and continues to be written by men who, benefiting from the privileges of patriarchy, relegated women to a secondary role in the social structure. As a way of maintaining male power against female power, men use violence so as not to lose the virility they believe they have, while also being tied to the patriarchal system. Men use violence to preserve conquered privileges and keep women trapped in the system that enshrines them with the central role in society. Violence against women is the final chapter of a complex plot involving patriarchy, misogyny and power in which human rights and feminism represent the theoretical basis for respecting dignity and gender equality. To grant state protection to women, the Maria da Penha Law provided for the granting of protective measures to swiftly guarantee the integrity of victims of domestic violence. The technical report seeks to analyze all requests for protective measures granted in the District of Formoso do Araguaia/TO between 2015 and 2020 to identify who the victims of domestic violence are and seek a common point of the immediate reasons that led them to seek protection of the State, including the transcription of the reports extracted from the requests made to the Police Stations.
