Through this work, the role of the Public Ministry of Tocantins as a protagonist in the
implementation of an air monitoring project in the State Park of Lajeado is sought, while
guaranteeing the right to the Park's Environment and to the health of Tocantins citizens in the
surrounding municipalities and especially in the capital Palmas/TO. It is noteworthy that the
methodological approach adopted to carry out the work and obtain the results consists of
solving the problem of fires and makes it possible to measure air quality in the region of
highlighted environmental protection, which helps in the adoption of actions and public
policies for its control. In this research, the relationship of causes, problems and solutions is
described and, at the same time, an exploratory, qualitative/quantitative approach is carried
out through the study of the concrete case and the protection network that makes up the State
Park of Lajeado, having as field of research: environment, pollution, air quality and health.
The research subjects are the population that lives in the park area and the public and private
agencies that participate in the circle of fire project. After the methodological path described
above, it is possible to achieve the general objective, which is the creation of an air quality
monitoring network, based on low-cost technologies, in real time and open data, acting in the
prevention and confrontation of fires. The financial resources obtained by the Public Ministry
arising from judicial and extrajudicial activities and as well as the allocation of environmental
funds with the scope of protection of the Lajeado State Park region.
