Resumo:
The process of democratization in higher education based on policies of expansion and access, allowed a change in the profile of students in the interiors of federal institutions of higher education throughout the country, and thus causing the delitization of public universities. However, in addition to enabling access, it was perceived that it was necessary to ensure the permanence and success of the student at the conclusion of the undergraduate course of higher education, soon the need for a Student Assistance Policy. In view of this, the present work provided the reflection on the Policy of Student Assistance in Higher Education, focusing on analyzing the implementation of the Student Assistance Policy of the Federal University of Tocantins for the permanence of undergraduate students of the Campus of Miracema, with the objective of mapping uft's student aid/programs for the Campus of Miracema; identify the articulation of student assistance policy in the Campus of Miracema; and to know the student's access to this policy and to the aid/programs. It was based on the Dialectical Critical method in order to perform a deeper reading of the studied reality, and bibliographic research and documentary research were used as a research technique in order to achieve the objectives proposed in this work. The analysis of the results showed that the UFT Student Assistance Policy, between 2016 and 2019, advanced a lot, decentralizing the larger campuses and offering students from the lower campuses, equal access to student programs, as in the case of the Campus of Miracema that in 2016 was only available to students 2 (two) types of aid and in 2019 the number of aid offered rose to 7 (seven). It is concluded that uft student assistance programs have sought to cover all areas of the PNAES and offer guarantee of permanence to students from all campuses, but have points to be analyzed, rethought and improved, in order to ensure a quality education that contributes not only to the qualification in the labor market, but above all for the freedom of oppression of the neoliberal system.
