This dissertation aims to present the social place that the black population was reserved in Brazilian literature, considering that the black in the course of literary historiography has been placed on the sidelines in the narrative discourse, this same discourse that produces characters that figure in a memory and a literary representation. Nationality promotes subordination and marginalization to blacks and conditions them to fight and resist in a class society. By transforming the black man into a non-human, the white man has been working to make the black man invisible in all the instances he integrates, whether in literature, music, dance or social life. The black people, in addition to being a figure that has been stereotyped, is also a figure that cannot appear, that is, he was created to be an extra, an unimportant character, or with characteristics that define him as something inferior, among others. Downgrading possibilities. However, the literary representation of the black man and woman is being revised by the Brazilian literary discourse, understood as a process that needs to be taken seriously, racial issues in literature gain space and voice in the pen of many black writers who mark in the literary discourse its ideal of belonging to blackness, as well as its representativeness. Our research has a qualitative nature and as a methodological contribution we analyze two literary works by the writer Moura Lima, Serra dos pilões- Jagunços e Tropeiros and Chão das Carabinas - Coronéis, Peões and Boiadas, both texts dissect about the sertanejo man, the jagunço and the treatment given to black men and women in the former north of Goiás, now Tocantins. This choice was based on the position and place of speech that are delegated to black characters in the narrative construction of Tocantins literature. Therefore, we will present the black in the works under analysis. In addition, we will discuss the formation of Tocantins literature, its forms of circulation and formation of readers as its importance for the formation of the memory of a people in a given society. As a result, we propose a discussion about the place that black people occupy in the works under analysis and what is the importance of building the place of speeches of black characters in a literature that is still configured as regionalist. |
