This paper entitled "An Investigation of Possible Students’ Disinterest and
Demotivation for Oral English Language in the Classroom" show the reasons
that the students of Colégio Estadual Guilherme Dourado feel discouraged in
class of English Language. In addition, it seeks to show strategies that can help
teachers motivate their students. Concern over this issue arose during the
participant’s practicum classes at this school in 2014, where it was noticed that
the students refused to use oral language in the classroom. The methodology of
this research is qualitative and ethnographic. Where the researcher stayed a
period of time with the participants and also applied a questionnaire at the end
of this period. In the beginning it was believed that most students felt
discouraged, but at the end of the research it was found that it was not the
majority, because thirty-one students were questioned and a portion of eleven
students of the first year of high school cited above said that they were
discouraged. |
