To this end, the research seeks to make a historical and conceptual overviey on Brazilian television and television news. Survey characteristics, explore concepts and trajectory of this opinionated gender in Brazil and its insertion and peculiarities in different media. The research observes the audiovisual elements essential for the construction of the journalistic chronicle. Methodologically, it qualitatively analyzes five editions of “Crônicas do Jornal Hoje”, based on the methodological procedures defined by Thomé and Reis (2017), on critical analysis of audiovisual chronicle. From the analysis is possible to conclude that the chronicles of Jornal Hoje have some particularities, as they present elements of both the chronicle itself, but also characteristics inherent to the television news format, of television reporting. In the newscast, the chronicle undergoes some adaptations, revealing its ability to move between different media. Partindo-se do contexto de que a crônica televisiva possui um espaço fixo no telejornalismo brasileiro, o presente estudo tem como objetivo identificar os elementos e as características do gênero por meio da observação e análise das crônicas do telejornal Jornal Hoje, da Rede Globo. Para tanto, a pesquisa busca fazer um apanhado histórico e conceitual sobre a televisão e o telejornalismo brasileiro. Levantar características, explorar conceitos e a trajetória deste gênero opinativo no Brasil, sua inserção e peculiaridades em diferentes meios de comunicação. A pesquisa observa os elementos audiovisuais essenciais para a construção da crônica jornalística. Metodologicamente, analisa qualitativamente cinco edições do quadro “Crônicas do Jornal Hoje”, a partir dos procedimentos metodológicos definidos por Thomé e Reis (2017), sobre análise crítica do cronismo audiovisual. A partir da análise é possível concluir que as crônicas do Jornal Hoje possuem algumas particularidades, pois apresentam elementos tanto da crônica em si, mas também características inerentes ao formato telejornalístico, da reportagem televisiva.
