This work addresses the creation of Mercosur and its importance for member, associate and
adhering countries. The search for economic improvements for the countries of the bloc was
the justification for the creation of Mercosur, as well as the adoption of a single customs tariff,
which may have a zero rate on some products and a partial rate reduction on other products.
Within the context of international trade, it is worth noting that transport, one of the most
popular logistics operations, operates in the movement and storage of products. The pipeline
modal has a low transport cost. The Bolivia-Brazil gas pipeline is responsible for transporting
natural gas from Bolivia to Brazil and the supply of natural gas by Bolivia is essential to
complete the Brazilian energy matrix and that any changes in both the quantity supplied and
the amount charged for the product impact directly to natural gas users, whether companies or
end consumers. The general objective of the research is to describe the link between Mercosur
and the Bolivia-Brazil gas pipeline, and has specific objectives to describe the process of
creating Mercosur and the implementation of the Bolivia-Brazil gas pipeline in Brazilian
territory, presenting possible improvements resulting from this implementation.
