Resumo:
Horse breeding has been highlighted by moving more than 16 billion/year and generating 3.2 million jobs directly and indirectly. The equines have an active behavior and quick reactions to certain situations, besides the practice of physical activities and management to which they are subjected, they are predisposed to traumatic injuries. The aim of this work was to describe the activities experienced in the Large Animal Sector of the State University of the North Fluminense Darcy Ribeiro (UENF), during the supervised intership from March 7th to May 16th, 2022, totalizing 390 hours, under the supervision of Profª. Drª. Paula Alessandra Di Filippo and under the orientation of Prof. Dr. Marco Augusto Giannoccaro da Silva in the clinic and large animal surgery area. During the internship there was the need to search for the ideal treatment to overcome the various challenges that the equine wounds are, and therefore will be described in this report a clinical case involving the treatment of open wound with bone exposure in a horse, where we used complementary treatments to complement conventional treatments.
