The study was a theoretical- methodological basis in the sociocultural perspective of literacy and concepts of the field of sociology. This research has a qualitative character, of the case study type. The data were generated from the research questionnaire sent to students of the course tickets between 2020 and 2022. The results show that students cultivate a heterogeneous relationship with reading practices. Furthermore, in the academic sphere, these subjects report difficulties that are related to the reading of genres of complex/academic discourse and mastery of the languages and codes of this medium, much because these genres represent new ways of reading and interacting with texts written in a new context. O objetivo deste estudo foi investigar práticas leitoras dos discentes ingressantes no curso de Ciências Sociais da Universidade Federal do Norte do Tocantins – UFNT/Tocantinópolis, no sentido de contribuir com a caracterização desse grupo. O estudo constituiu base teórico- metodológica na perspectiva sociocultural de letramento e noções do campo da sociologia. Esta pesquisa possui caráter qualitativo, do tipo estudo de caso. Os dados foram gerados a partir do questionário de pesquisa enviado para estudantes do curso ingressos entre 2020 e 2022. Os resultados demonstram que os discentes cultivam relação heterogênea com as práticas de leitura. Ainda, no âmbito acadêmico, esses sujeitos informam dificuldades que estão relacionadas à leitura de gêneros do discurso complexo/acadêmico e domínio das linguagens e códigos desse meio, muito em razão de tais gêneros representarem novas maneiras de ler e interagir com textos escritos em um contexto novo. 2023-03-02T13:21:46Z 2023-03-02T13:21:46Z 2022-12-12 Monografia Larissa Rodrigues Farias da Costa.
