This report describes the activities developed during the Supervised Curricular Internship, the last subject offered to the veterinary medicine course at the Federal University of North of Tocantins. The internship was carried out under the supervision of the veterinary physician Jhulyana Costa dos Santos and guidance from teacher Aline Alberti Morgado in the period
between August 15th and October 27th of 2022, fulfilling 390 hours. The activities were developed in the area bovine reproduction, of veterinary medicine and surgery of large animals, focusing mostly on the implementation of fixed-time artificial insemination (FTAI) protocols, gestational diagnosis by ultrasound and transrectal palpation, gynecological evaluation and consulting reproduction in several properties in the region of Bico do Papagaio. The report describes all the activities carried out during the internship and there is also a review about the estrous cycle of the bovine female and the basic principles of the FTAI protocols, which has become an increasingly important reproductive biotechnology in the field.
