Our research proposal intends to investigate and historicise the conflict that occurred
between the security forces of the State of Pará (military police) and the rural
workers, occurred on April 17, 1996 in the city of Eldorado do Carajás, where, one
more , With regard to social issues related to rural workers and their struggle for land,
the use of violence prevailed as a "solution" found by the oligarchical political
command, almost a "parallel power" there is a fragile judicial power, mated with
interests Private, sustained by the use of force. The research done so far has pointed
to the need to verticalize the problematization of sources in order to understand the
multiple and diversified meanings of the narratives contained in them. These
meanings are expressed through testimonies that narrate the sufferings experienced
by the workers, poetic narratives, books of memory, through the narratives of the
institutions that try to shelter them and protect even the narratives from the judiciary.
