In this work we try to understand the social representations and the
imaginary presented within Brazilian Popular Music (MPB) as a form of protest
during the period of military rule. Social representations are responsible for the
form and content to be presented to society. Initially, the concepts of social
representations are presented through Moscovsci (1978) and social imaginary,
with Baczko (1985), along with the political scenario of the studied period. Soon
after, some songs by the composers Chico Buarque, Belchior and Gilberto Gil
are analyzed. The analysis is carried out within the bias of social
representations and the social imaginary. Finally, we present the construction of
feelings and images of a political scenario, through Brazilian popular music. |
