Resumo:
This experiment was conducted to determine the chemical composition of whole babassu, and to establish the digestibility coefficients of dry matter (DM), neutral detergent fiber (NDF), acid detergent fiber (ADF), and ether extract (EE) for slow growing chickens. A total of 108 Label Rouge® broiler chicks, mixed batch, acquired with one day of life were used. The birds, with 21 days of age, were distributed in the respective experimental units (50x50x30cm galvanized wire cages, equipped with trough-type feeder and drinker) and overlapping trays for excreta collection. Three diets were evaluated: reference diet (DR), and the other treatments will be replacements of the RD by the test food (ground whole babassu) in 10% (test diet 1 - DT1) and 20% (test diet 2 - DT2), making three treatments, six replicates with six birds each, distributed in a completely randomized design. With the results, we can determine that the baba composition had 89.53% MS, 68.67% NDF and 49.29% ADF. He presented the following digestibility averages, 26.38% DM, 39.86% NDF and 17.68% ADF. With average utilization coefficients of 40.45% MS, 68.05% NDF and 35.87% ADF.
