Resumo:
Reception at the different levels of health care is one of the bases for care, based on the doctrinal principles of the SUS - Unified Health System - integrality, universality and equity. In the field of mental health, the CAPS- Psychosocial Care Center, daily care services that replace the old model of hospitalization in a psychiatric hospital, serve clients with severe and persistent mental disorders and reception is the initial approach to those who seek these services. The demand that arises is diversified, which demands versatility from the professional to deal with each situation. Product of light technologies, reception is understood in relation to several aspects that permeate care policies, relationships, practices and discourses, that is, integrating all health work processes. The objectives of this study were the Psychologist's Performance in Basic Health Units (UBS), analyzing the professional performance through the reception process and the process of institutionalization of psychology in public health and having as specific objectives to study the history of SUS and the Psychosocial Network ; to study the idea of Reception for Brazilian Public Health and to research Reception in the Psychosocial Care Network. To discuss the data, thematic content analysis was used with authors such as Merhy, Foucault, Carl Rogers, among others. Some categories were found, such as the reception as a listening tool, the reception facilitating the formation of the bond and the reception seen as a help. It was concluded that these subjects perceive the reception as a process that transcends a screening, pointing out perceptions that meet the - listening, helping and bonding.
