Resumo:
The following text was based on the experience of a therapeutic companion of an autistic child in the school environment. Research objectives initially designed in the project had the general objective of theoretically deepening therapeutic monitoring in a school in the early years of Elementary Education, focusing on autistic children. The following specific objectives were stipulated: (i) to carry out exploratory bibliographical research based on research categories: therapeutic companion, school inclusion and autism; (ii) to identify, based on experience report, how therapeutic companion deals with autistic children demands in elementary school; (iii) to describe possible actions in the following relationships: therapeutic companion – autistic child; therapeutic companion – school; therapeutic companion – school curriculum and therapeutic companion – elementary school teacher. Based on this research, it was understood that school therapeutic companion role was fundamental to mediate relationships, make demands more flexible and to adequate and adapt the curriculum. All these therapeutic companion efforts were aimed for child's better interaction with school routine.
