Resumo:
This research analyzes the importance of academic monitoring in the Pedagogy course at UFT/Campus Miracema. For that, the following research problem was elaborated: what is the role of the monitor in supporting the learning of Higher Education students in the Pedagogy course? As a general objective, we try to historically understand the particularities of the monitor's role in the teacher training course. With the following specific objectives: a) Distinguish the specificities of the different Pedagogy course monitoring programs (PIM, PIMI, PIIP) and describe their impacts on the training of future teachers; b) Characterize the role of the monitor on the Miracema campus and relate it to the importance of the pedagogy course; c) Reflect on the importance of the monitoring experience for the training of future teachers; d) Report a case of monitoring experience at PIP/CIPed 2021. This research is of an exploratory qualitative nature, and the studies were developed based on a documentary research carried out on the official UFT website, and a field survey carried out virtually with monitors and students. The results show that monitoring is a very important activity for academics in the Pedagogy course. The data indicate that this practice provides an improvement in the general picture of difficulties faced by these students.
