CNPQ::CIENCIAS SOCIAIS APLICADAS This study aims to understand the Professional Education in the country from the political, economic and social context of the late twentieth century and to present what are the institutions that offer the technical level courses and what are these in the city of Araguaína, Tocantins State. Thus, it was necessary to understand about the Laws and Decrees governing this education in the country, relating to the globalized, technological and social scene that began to unleash in Brazil since the 1980s, as well as with the new needs that the labor market now requires of the workers from these years on. Since the technology began to be introduced massively in the labor and / or production process, causing workers to dominate new techniques for the development of their activities, as well as exchanging workers by technology in the workplace. To support theoretically and scientifically the development and analysis of this study, we used authors to research and discuss the theme, such as: Antunes (2003), Almeida (2012), Duarte (2003), Frigotto (1995, 2008), Ianni (2000), among others. Este estudo tem por objetivo compreender a Educação Profissional no país a partir do contexto político, econômico e social do final do século XX e apresentar quais são as instituições que ofertam os cursos de nível técnico e quais são estes no município de Araguaína, estado do Tocantins. Dessa forma, foi necessário compreender sobre as Leis e Decretos que regem esta educação no país, relacionando com o cenário globalizado, tecnológico e social que começou a desencadear no Brasil a partir dos anos de 1980, bem como as novas necessidades que o mercado de trabalho passa a exigir dos trabalhadores a partir destes anos. Pois a tecnologia começou a ser introduzida maciçamente no processo de trabalho e/ou produção, fazendo com que os trabalhadores dominassem novas técnicas para o desenvolvimento de suas atividades, como também, trocando os trabalhadores pela tecnologia no ambiente de trabalho.
