Resumo:
The monograph presents a study on face-to-face monitoring of disciplines, in the Pedagogy Course of the Federal University of Tocantins, Campus de Miracema, through the application of a printed questionnaire to academics, with entry between 2016 and 2019. In the first part, we highlight the historical records regarding the origin of monitoring, in England, at the end of the 18th century, involving Andrew Bell and Joseph Lancaster. The Lancaster surname called the Lancasterian reform of education, or the Lancasterian method. In Brazil, monitoring began in the 19th century, after the flight of the Portuguese Royal Family, with approximately fifteen thousand members of the Court, to the Brazilian Colony, in 1808. The forced situation of the creation of the royal public school initially resorted to the Lancasterian method or also called monitoring, to accompany the school development of students. The second part of this study presents the analysis of field research data, with the objective of showing the importance of face-to-face monitoring of disciplines, in the view of academics. Due to the COVID-19 Pandemic, the study remained only in the first data collection, carried out in person, through a questionnaire applied to 100 (one hundred) academics of the course, showing a portrait of the satisfaction and importance of face-to-face monitoring of disciplines in 2019.
