This research aims to produce reflections on LGBTphobia, understood as a device
that produces a vastness of violence directed towards the LGBT population
(Lesbians, gays, bisexuals, transvestites and transsexuals) from the study of reports
published by webjournalism produced between the years 2012 and 2022 and that
mentioned the city of Araguaína and LGBTphobic violence. To study the contents,
we rely on the apparatus of gender and sexuality studies strongly debated by queer
theory. The collection of reports was carried out through the internet, 13 of which
were selected for the production of the final work, where we aimed at those that
revealed nuances of a dominant ideology about sex and gender. The content of the
material was analyzed from the perspective of French Current Discourse Analysis
(FDA), also supported by the theoretical references of queer studies. Thus, we
concluded that most of the reports brought content that fostered stigmatization and
the production of violence against the LGBT population in web journalism, especially
about transvestites, and to a lesser extent, that this communication resource has also
served to denounce and produce cracks. on fossilized modes of exclusion of this
population in the studied territory. |
