Resumo:
This work aims to analyze the process of territorialization and expansion of one of the most recent military corporations in Brazil, the Military Fire Brigade of the State of Tocantins – CBMTO, focusing on its establishment in the city of Araguaína (the second largest in terms of population and one of the most important in terms of relevance to the state economy, especially in the region called “Bico do Papagaio”). The study was provoked by the perception of the absence of the theme in local studies, as well as scientific, academic or literary records about this part of the history and context of the State of Tocantins: the implementation and performance of the Fire Department, especially in the north of the State. The work is characterized as a bibliographic and documentary research, using a qualitative-quantitative research methodology to capture, explore, study and analyze the data verified from interviews, service reports, occurrences, decrees, official journals , laws and newspaper reports. For such studies, we are theoretically based on the productions of authors that bring us light to the notions of territory, State, power, society, human rights and, therefore, we make use of Bourdieu, Dallari, Saquet, Haesbaert and Weber. As a result, we seek to record the process of dismemberment, implementation, structuring and expansion of the Fire Department, as well as exploring the dimension of society's demands for such a process, the different actions and, still, converging with the territorialization of the corporation in the northern region of Tocantins. from its institutional development process, its physical and citizen structuring within the State.
