The Jorge Amado House Foundation promotes the memory and legacy of its namesake, while also preserving and facilitating access to its rich collection. The objective of the research was to analyze the facilities of the Jorge Amado House Foundation in light of the National Council of Archives' (CONARQ) recommendations for building conservation and the Technical Instructions of the Bahia Fire Department. To achieve this, the study employed case study methods regarding the collection and Foundation's facilities, supplemented by bibliographic and documentary research. As a result, it was possible to verify that the Jorge Amado House Foundation carries out important activities for building maintenance and preservation of the collection. However, weaknesses were also observed concerning best practices in building conservation. It is concluded that the Foundation plays a significant role in promoting and preserving Jorge Amado's collection, and there are still many possibilities for research in the field of building conservation. |
