CNPQ::CIENCIAS BIOLOGICAS The supervised traineeship was performed in the swine industry , the Federal University of Tocantins, Araguaína -TO in the period from October 21 to December 20 of 2013. The production model was the production of piglets weaned and semi- confined system for mothers and breeding. The squad consisted of 73 animals, including breeding, mothers and piglets. Being 14 arrays breeds Large White, Duroc, Pietran Bieber; 3 players - 1 Duroc, Large White 1 and 1 mixed race. Apart from an adult male castrated Large White and 55 animals in times of motherhood and childcare. The animals were divided into two installations with individual stalls and masonry around the first installation was 4 paddocks with varying dimensions depending on the animal category which quartered. The breeding program was adopted and directed artificial insemination natural mating. In the swine industry than those described above facilities had other dependencies such as: installation management for piglets and semen collection, dock, storage facility feed, medicines and tools, feed mill, feed storage room, warehouse, office, sedimentation pond and dunghill. During the stage all activities related to the general management of a swine have been developed, and these were aimed at improving the knowledge acquired at the university. O estágio curricular supervisionado foi realizado no Setor de Suinocultura, da Universidade Federal do Tocantins, Araguaína-TO, no período de 21 de outubro a 20 de dezembro de 2013. O modelo de produção era o de produção de leitões desmamados em sistema confinado e semiconfinado para matrizes e reprodutores. O plantel era composto por 73 animais, entre reprodutores, matrizes e leitões. Sendo 14 matrizes das raças Large White, Duroc, Pietran e Sorocaba; três reprodutores, um Duroc, um Large White e um cruzado. Além de um macho adulto Large White castrado e 55 animais em fases de maternidade e creche. Os animais eram distribuídos em duas instalações com baias individuais de alvenaria e em torno da primeira instalação havia quatro piquetes com dimensões variáveis dependendo da categoria animal que alojavam. O programa de reprodução adotado era a monta natural dirigida e inseminação artificial. No setor de suinocultura, além das instalações acima descritas, possuía outras dependências como: instalação para manejo dos leitões e coleta de sêmen, embarcadouro, instalação para armazenamento de ração, medicamentos e ferramentas, fábrica de ração, sala de armazenamento de rações, almoxarifado, escritório, lagoa de decantação e esterqueira.
