Resumo:
The experiment was conducted in the Poultry Sector of the Federal University of Tocantins, Araguaína - TO, to evaluate the technical feasibility (weight gain, feed intake and feed conversion) and economic (cost of feed per kg of produced chicken) of inclusion of glycerin purified in balanced diets for broilers, from 22 to 42 days old. 160 broilers were used, males of Cobb 500® line with 22 days of age in a completely randomized experimental design with four treatments (0, 2, 4 and 6% purified glycerin inclusion) and four replicates of ten birds each. It was observed that the purified glycerin inclusion levels did not affect weight gain, feed conversion and final weight. However, there was effect on feed intake, the lower feed cost per kg of GP was obtained with diets containing 0% purified glycerin inclusion, which resulted in greater margin with respect to power. The inclusion of 6% glycerin purified in broiler diets from 22 to 42 days of age was found to be technically feasible and economically viable.
