This study aimed to conduct a narrative review on the psychology of indigenous peoples and
the role of the psychologist (a) in indigenous mental health between 2013 and 2022 in the
Brazilian scientific platforms Scielo and BVS-Psi. We used the descriptor "Indigenous" and
seven different combinations with other descriptors, including "Well living" to advance in time
and verify if this concept is being applied to the actions of psychologists in Brazil. We found
739 results, of which, after applying the inclusion and exclusion criteria, only six articles
remained, whose content was relevant to discussions on mental health in indigenous contexts.
From the reading of the selected articles were discussed two categories called "Role of the
psychologist in indigenous mental health" and "Well-Living".It is concluded that there are still
few scientific productions in the databases on the performance of psychologists in indigenous
contexts, which reflects the urgent need for productions in the academic field articulating theory
and practice. |
