This is an avaluation of the project entitled Educanção, which took place in the North
Beach city between 2020 end 2023, the city is located in the far north of the state of
Tocantins in the Parrot’s Beak region. The social project Educanção the aim was to
teach music to children and teenagers aged between 10 and 15 who attended the
city’s public schools. We started with the question of whether music teaching in the
project Educanção can it be thought of as a potential for an integral education of the
human being?. Based on our theoretical foundation, which covered social projects
and music teaching, non-formal music teaching, as well as the importance of music
for the development of extra-musical skills, we can say that the way the project
Educanção was developed was the following it could be an instrument of integral
education, in other words, one that looks at the human being as a whole, one that is
systemic.
