Since the beginning of humanity, we sports enthusiasts have been analyzing the development
of athletes in their sports activities. In football, the use of Electronic Performance
and Tracking Systems (EPTS) was approved by the F´ed´eration Internationale de Football
Association (FIFA) in 2015. Subsequently, FIFA has been developing regulations regarding
the use of EPTS in football, standardizing technologies and procedures (BOARD,
2021), which has also been happening in other sports. This study conducted a systematic
literature review on the available EPTS technologies and their types. Furthermore, as a
research objective, a prototype was developed using Bluetooth Low Energy, embedded in
an ESP32 board, and employing noise removal using Kalman filters. Finally, performance
tests of the prototype were carried out to evaluate the accuracy of the collected data, its
battery life, and a comparison was made between the results obtained in the prototype
tests and other systems available in the market. In the comparison, factors such as size,
weight, and prices were also considered among the different systems used in the evaluation |
