The study aimed to investigate the socioeconomic profile and physical activity of teachers working in preschools in the metropolitan region of Tocantins, using records from a sample study. Thus, 197 teachers from five municipalities in Tocantins answered about their habits and initial information. A bibliographic search was realized in four databases (Lilacs, Scielo, Medline and Pubmed) and information was also used from a sample survey database with preschool teachers who completed a questionnaire with children's daily activities and physical activity habits. The results point to a percentage of 45% of teachers who do not allocate their personal time to practice physical activity. With these same teachers it was found that there is a correlation between teachers' socioeconomic profile and the frequency of physical activities. Bibliographic research and information about teachers' physical activity habits can influence the offer of activities for preschoolers.
