A bibliographic search was realized in four databases (Lilacs, Scielo, Medline and Pubmed) and information was also used from a sample survey database with preschool teachers who completed a questionnaire with children's daily activities and physical activity habits. The results point to a percentage of 45% of teachers who do not allocate their personal time to practice physical activity. With these same teachers it was found that there is a correlation between teachers' socioeconomic profile and the frequency of physical activities. Bibliographic research and information about teachers' physical activity habits can influence the offer of activities for preschoolers. O estudo teve como objetivo investigar o perfil socioeconômico e a prática de atividade física de professores que atuam em pré-escolas da região metropolitana do Tocantins, utilizando registros provenientes de um estudo amostral. Desta maneira, 197 professores pertencentes a cinco municípios tocantinenses responderam sobre seus hábitos e informações iniciais. Foi realizada uma pesquisa bibliográfica em quatro bases de dados (Lilacs, Scielo, Medline e Pubmed) e também foram utilizadas informações do banco de dados de uma pesquisa amostral com professores da pré-escola que preencheram um questionário com atividades do cotidiano infantil e hábitos de atividade física. Os resultados apontam para um percentual de 45% de professores que não destinam o seu tempo pessoal para prática de atividade física, com esses mesmos professores foi verificado que há correlação entre o perfil socioeconômico dos professores e os a frequência de prática de atividades físicas.
