Traditional therapy provides drug treatment, which must occur individually for each case, as they will vary according to which organs were affected and the severity of the symptoms. This work focused on conducting a survey on the integrative and complementary practices used in the treatment of Systemic Lupus Erythematosus, which avoid the various side effects caused by allopathic drugs, especially in cases of using high daily doses. Among the main results found, good part of the studies indicated the need for a multidisciplinary team to monitor the patient during the drug intervention, the main points to be observed were the need for psychological, physical therapy and nutritional monitoring, factors that significantly contribute to the quality of life of SLE patients. O Lúpus Eritematoso Sistêmico é uma manifestação patológica autoimune rara, com maior incidência em mulheres jovens, que se encontram na fase reprodutiva (15 aos 45 anos). A terapia tradicional prevê o tratamento medicamentoso, que deve ocorrer de forma individualizada para cada caso, pois irão variar de acordo com quais órgãos foram acometidos e a gravidade dos sintomas. Esse trabalho teve como foco fazer um levantamento sobre as práticas integrativas e complementares utilizadas no tratamento do Lúpus Eritematoso Sistêmico, que evitem os diversos efeitos colaterais ocasionados pelos medicamentos alopáticos, principalmente nos casos de utilização de doses diárias elevadas Dentre os principais resultados encontrados, boa parte dos trabalhos indicaram a necessidade de uma equipe multidisciplinar para acompanhamento do paciente durante a intervenção medicamentosa.
