This work deals the influence of Kardecism in religious education at the Chico Xavier
Spiritist School (E.E.C.X), located in the city of Palmas, TO, more specifically in the
early years of elementary school. In this way, to investigate the link between the religious
character and what is recommended by the legislation on the subject in Brazil. The
methodology used follows part of the official documentation of the school, as well as
from a bibliographic reading on the subject, especially the one that deals with the scope
of religious education in basic education. As a result, the work demonstrates the
