In this Final Course study, our research objective is to present proposals for reading activities
in English language classes based on the illustrated book "The True Story of the Three Little
Pigs" by Jon Scieszka, a contemporary classic of children's literature. Grounded in the
dialogical perspective of language by Bakhtin and his circle, this study explores the verbal and
visual dimensions of the narrative, aligned with the approach of Kress and Van Leeuwen.
Situated within the field of Applied Linguistics, specifically as applied research, we employ a
qualitative descriptive-interpretive approach, which follows a qualitative approach. By
exploring this book, our aim is to promote students' interaction with the English language, by
fostering language skills and comprehension of different forms of literary expression. We
firmly believe that this approach will enrich their learning experience, stimulating creativity
and critical thinking. Consequently, we hope to provide an engaging and meaningful experience
that contributes to language development and love for reading. |
