Situated in the interdisciplinary perspective of Applied Linguistics, in this work the aim of the
research is to develop proposals for reading activities with the comic Maggy in: the cicada
and the ant, by Maurício de Sousa Produções for English language classes in the context of
basic education. We use as the main theoretical-methodological contribution the language
dialogical perspective of Mikhail Bakhtin and his circle, once that in this way it is possible to
explain the verbal and the visual articulated “in a structured material expression”
(BAKHTIN/VOLOCHINOV, 2002, p. 118). The work is characterized as a descriptiveinterpretive
research that follows a qualitative approach. The questions presented in the proposals of reading activities can be applied in English language classes with students in the 6th year of elementary school. The questions are not ready and finished in themselves, but can be implemented according to the needs of the context of use. |
