Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) is one of the neurodevelopmental disorders described in the Diagnostic and Statistical Manual of Mental Disorders (DSM) and presents in its symptomatology the impairment and persistent deficits in communication, social interaction and learning behaviors. Such commitments can be identified in the first months of the baby's life by recognizing the early signs of ASD. Understanding that the signs of ASD are observed right at the beginning of the child's life, this research aimed to survey the bibliographies that address the importance of diagnosis and early intervention of ASD. This research is an illustrated theoretical work, that is, it is focused on the reflection of a theme and for that it uses one or more practical clinical cases that have the purpose of illustration. In addition, through two cases of published clinical reports, the work elucidates the importance of early diagnosis and intervention for children who are diagnosed with Autistic Spectrum Disorder. Our results indicate that having an early diagnosis and long-term intervention results in a better development of the child in relation to the skills that are compromised by the disorder
