Resumo:
This research sought to understand how financial education is being worked with students of Youth and Adult Education in state schools in the city of Araguaína-TO. Which was outlined by the following guiding question: How are the concepts of financial education being developed with students of Youth and Adult Education (EJA) in state schools in the city of Araguaína-TO? This study was developed using a qualitative approach, in which we used a bibliographic review to discuss Financial Education in the school context, taking into account the historical constitution in Brazil, as well as its definition and importance for teaching and its development in Youth Education and Adults and in the State of Tocantins. And it also involved the development and application of a questionnaire, aimed at Mathematics teachers, through which we seek to understand how Financial Education is developed with EJA students. The results indicate that Financial Education can be an important tool in this teaching modality, and in general it can be said that Mathematics teachers have been developing concepts on the subject with their students through practices aimed at everyday life, however , there is a lack of clarity on the subject, since there is a confusion of concepts of Financial Mathematics and Financial Education. We infer that for the effective development of Financial Education in EJA, it is necessary that the theme be included in the initial and continued training of teachers.
