Arboviroses are diseases considered a public health problem taking into account their potential
for dissemination and accommodation in favorable environments, where, in this context, it is
essential that there are various interventions and studies on this topic, such as the development
of approaches in Textbooks (LD), material considered as one of the main means of research
and access for most public school students. Nessa vertente, esta pesquisa objetivou analisar as
informações publicadas sobre arboviroses nos LDs de Ciências aprovados no Programa
Nacional do Livro e do Material Didático (PNLD) 2020. To this end, 28 science textbooks from
7 elementary school collections (6th to 9th grade) were analyzed, verifying the number of pages,
the content, and the visual resources related to the theme. This study was characterized as a
qualitative research, which was based on the techniques and precepts proposed by the content
analysis described by Laurence Bardin. From the analysis of the texts and based on the books
analyzed, it is noteworthy that 18 do not present content related to arboviroses, either by
highlighting the importance of vaccination or the care about basic sanitation and open dumps,
important topics that should be explained, besides the biological processes, This fact may be
related to the objects of knowledge of the Common National Curricular Base (BNCC), since
most of the content addressed in these materials are mainly related to physics, in contrast, the
books of the 7th grade are, for the most part, the ones that present with greater intensity the
theme studied. Thus, it is noteworthy that the textbook should promote the construction and
critical reflection of scientific concepts, where, for students to promote their own health, it is
essential that there is the dissemination of thought-provoking situations that can assist in the
development of collective actions, enabling a better quality of life, in addition to individual
health and the health of the community in which the student is inserted. |
