Resumo:
The present study refers to a research built within the scope of the Degree in Rural Education: Visual Arts and Music by the Federal University of Tocantins, as a Course Completion Work (TCC). Its objective is to provide in-depth knowledge and encourage discussion of relevant aspects of the cultural manifestations present in the Kalunga Vai de Almas quilombola community. The research seeks to understand the history, identity and memory of the cultural manifestations in the celebration of Nossa Senhora D'Abadia and its protagonists, having these categories as a constituent element of the Afro-Brazilian matrix culture in the municipality of Cavalcante GoioiivObserving how it is and how these manifestations are present in this territory. It is also emphasized how the songs sung in these manifestations are organized, in order to understand the relationships built by men, women, children and young people in participating in these manifestations. They are based on classic and contemporary authors, such as: Halbwachs (1950); Muniz Alburqueque (1994); Barros and Nora (1984); Silva Junior (2020), Bittencourt (2013) among other authors who contributed significantly to the theoretical and practical approach of the research. The methodological procedure of this research was based on qualitative research, taking oral history, life history and ethnography as theoretical and methodological contributions, emphasizing their forms of organization and maintenance of this cultural practice.
