Resumo:
The growing influence of digital media in our lives puts everyday issues at the center of online discourse, so this work was developed with the aim of presenting an analysis of hate speech using netnography as a methodology, in order to map the dynamics in the communication processes between followers and non-followers of digital platforms, analyzing the behavior patterns of users involved in this discourse, identifying strategies adopted and understanding the impact on the inclusion of victims. Using a netnographic approach, online interactions were observed, such as comments, posts and discussions in specific forums, seeking to understand the social and cultural dynamics that fuel digital fatphobia. The research also investigated the platforms' moderation policies and their role in containing this harmful discourse, as well as analyzing the balance between freedom of expression and online safety. The results obtained demonstrate the ubiquitous presence of digital media in our daily lives and their influence in amplifying routine issues, including hate speech. We observed that the use of netnography in scientific research is a valuable tool for understanding this issue. In addition, this study highlights that the debate on hate speech is not confined to the legal field alone, but is also a relevant issue in historiography, showing ways in which such issues can be scrutinized in the classroom in accordance with the Common National Curriculum Base (BNCC).
