Digital technologies have been changing and advancing at an increasingly rapid pace
in recent times. Every year, there are innovations in this regard, as well as in the field
of media and social networks. In a certain way, individuals come to exist not only in a
physical world but also in a virtual world because a portion of a person's daily time is
spent on social networks and applications. This happens for various reasons, with
one of the main ones being the fact that people partially depend on social networks
to socialize with others. In other words, these networks provide interaction with
people from all over the world, in addition to enabling intellectual and cognitive
development. In the case of individuals diagnosed with Autism Spectrum Disorder
(ASD), digital tools can be effective as aids in the teaching and learning process.
Through digital technologies, they can develop intellectual and communicative skills
and, most importantly, overcome one of their most delicate barriers, that of
socializing with others. This applies not only in society in general but also within the
family and especially in the educational environment. An analytical study will be
conducted on the use of digital tools in the learning process of autistic students and
the development of a prototype, Autism Vowels, whose objective is to integrate
technology as a means of assistance in the learning process of individuals with ASD,
as they often face difficulties in social interaction. |
