Resumo:
The research will be presented as a monograph, which will serve as the final work of the Physical Education Course, Federal University of Tocantins, had as “object of study” the gender relations in the school environment. The “specific objectives” that have been formulated are: 1) Know and understand the concepts of Gender and Education throughout history; 2) Discuss the gender relations that were established during the consolidation of the school institution; and 3) Understand and discuss how gender relations occur in Physical Education classes; The “methodological foundations” are qualitative in nature and bibliographic. Its theoretical basis was based on the following authors: BEAUVOIR (1980), SCOTT (1995), LOURO (1997), GOELLNER (2008), CRUZ E PALMEIRA (2009), among others. The work aims to go through some fields still unexplored in Physical Education, but necessary. Thus, we deal with the relations of Gender and how they were constituted throughout the history of humanity, its relationship with education and especially with Physical Education.
