This article intends to make an approach to reflect on domestic slave labor in contemporary times. Therefore, the objective is to problematize domestic work in the state of Tocantins, as contemporary forms of work analogous to slavery in Brazil. The justification for this research is found in the perception of the occurrence of recent cases of rescue of domestic workers in conditions of work analogous to slavery. In this regard, reflections and information were carried out that present precariousness, degrading conditions and among others, experienced in a situation similar to slavery, having as a spatial cut the State of Tocantins, wherewe can seek different difficulties of women who perform domestic work in their informality. Housemaids who find themselves in this situation often do not understand the limits of exploitation and end up being exposed to this reality without even understanding that it is something illegal, unfortunately, it is still very common in everyday social life, reflected in the cultural aspect. from the past.
