This study proposes to investigate and
understand better how the introduction of slave
labor and its consequent exploration of
colonialist mentality in the Amazon occurred,
as well as the interrelationship between the
political, religious and economic processes,
since the end of the Iberian Union, in the context
of the main economic cycles, such as the
extraction of drugs from the hinterland, passing
through the gold in the region of Guaporeana
(now belonging to Rondônia) and, later, for the
voracity of industrial capital in the two rubber
cycles late nineteenth and early twentieth
century, and finally during the decisive years of
World War II (1942-1945). |
