Resumo:
This study aimed to analyze the epidemiological situation on congenital syphilis (CS) in the municipality of Palmas - TO, based on variables such as incidence, maternal age, frequency of pregnant women who underwent prenatal care, incidence of CS per year and sex, in addition to the frequency of pregnant women diagnosed with syphilis who were treated, the frequency of treatment of the partners and the mortality rate by CS, from January 2011 to December 2015. This is a study of the Type of case, transverse, descriptive and retrospective, and the cases of CS collected in the Notification of Invalidity Information System (SINAN) in Palmas - TO were analyzed, where tests and calculations were carried out to obtain the proposed objectives. In the period analyzed, 176 cases of congenital syphilis were recorded. The incidence rate increased from 3.84 to 6.97 / 1000 live births in the period. The maternal age group most affected was 20 to 34 years. The incidence of SC per year was progressively higher throughout the analyzed period from 3.81 to 5.6 / 1000 live births between 2011-2014. There was a low frequency of adequate treatment of pregnant women with syphilis, in the same way as the frequency of partners Treated. The mortality rate was lower in Palmas - TO in 2015 than in Brazil in the same year. The incidence of CS requires improvement in prenatal care, from the completion of notification forms to appropriate treatment of pregnant women and partners with actions effectively implemented.
