Resumo:
The purpose of this research is to discuss the concepts of literacy and literacy and their interdependence, considering that literacy is the learning process of the alphabetic writing system and its conventions (SOARES, 2014), and should be integrated with the development of reading and writing skills, with literacy. In view of the importance of the discussion on the need to literate literacy, we propose to reflect on the following questions: what characterizes these two concepts? How do they relate? What strategies and procedures can be adopted by teachers, aiming at the literacy and literacy of children, at the same time, in a qualified way? What works on these themes are being produced within the scope of the Federal University of Tocantins (UFT)? From these questions, it is highlighted that this study points out the importance of this discussion, presenting a list of the works produced in the undergraduate courses in Pedagogy of UFT, such as the campus of Arraias, Miracema and Palmas. The main objective, therefore, was to make a brief study on the concepts of literacy and literacy, having as main references the theoretical assumptions formulated by authors such as Soares (2009, 2014), Ferreiro (1999, 2015) and Freire (1983), in addition to a survey (state of the art) on the works already defended and published by the institution, using as a search criterion in the Library Portal the two terms mentioned. The consultation of the Portal was made between the months of November 2022 to May 2023, at different times, in order to obtain more up-to-date data on the works so far available. The results indicate that there is still a long way to go and an investment for the publication of research, because the number of course completion papers published in the library repository is much lower than what is expected in almost twenty years.
