Faced with the strengthening of the discourse of adherence to entrepreneurship in contemporary times, the growth of the initiative as an Individual Microentrepreneur (MEI) implies a large number, as a way out of economic crises, as an alternative employment or precariousness of paid work. With scarce assistance for this population of workers, there are challenges in managing work, as well as subjective implications in the face of little or no preparation for exercising individualistic work. The consequences of work on the mental health of micro-entrepreneurs are not exclusively due to the pandemic period of Covid-19,
however, given the new working conditions and the need for sudden adaptations during and after the health crisis, there was a worsening of the psychic suffering of this population. In view of the lack of connection between micro-entrepreneurs and any mental health support institution, the research proposes to investigate the subjective consequences of MEI and the fate of suffering encountered by one of them during the pandemic. Thus, in this work, we sought to analyze how an Individual Microentrepreneur from the city of Miracema do Tocantins - TO dealt with psychic suffering during the period of the Covid-19 pandemic. The research also proposed to identify the sources of pleasure and suffering (pathogenic, ethical and creative) and the characterization of the microentrepreneur's work organization. The research was carried out through a case study, data collection was obtained through a semi-structured interview and to analyze the results Bardin's Content Analysis methodology and
Psychodynamics of Work were used as a theoretical reference. In the results, it was found that there was a predominance of pathogenic suffering, manifested by suicidal ideation, the result of the individualistic way of working of the microentrepreneur, given the lack of cooperation and recognition during the period of economic crisis. The main sources of pleasure presented in the microentrepreneur's work organization were the guarantee of family support, recognition and relationship with customers and freedom to manage their own business. |
