Based on a bibliographical, documentary and field research, this text intends to insert in the academic environment the discussion about informality and informal work represented by the Popular Feira, one of the best known commercial points of Macapá. The research had as subjects the workers, in their different occupations, carried out during the months of February to December of 2016, As a data collection technique, semi-structured questionnaires were used, with 50 questionnaires applied to Feirão workers, 21 interviews between Feirão workers and clients and representatives of public agencies. The study concluded that most of the workers in this informal labor cluster are low-educated, low-income and come from other states, confirming the initial thesis that migratory flow tends to reflect on the phenomenon of informality. O estudo tem como objetivo apresentar o contexto histórico através do qual se deu a criação do Feirão Popular, localizado no estado do Amapá, cidade de Macapá, bem como traçar o perfil do trabalhador que desenvolve atividades neste local. A partir da realização de uma pesquisa bibliográfica, documental e de campo, este texto pretende inserir no meio acadêmico a discussão sobre a informalidade e o trabalho informal representado pelo Feirão Popular, um dos pontos comerciais mais conhecidos de Macapá. A pesquisa teve como sujeitos os trabalhadores, em suas diferentes ocupações, realizada durante os meses de fevereiro a dezembro de 2016, como técnica de coleta de dados foi utilizado questionários semiestrtuturados, sendo 50 questionários aplicados aos trabalhadores do Feirão, 21 entrevistas realizadas entre os trabalhadores e clientes do Feirão e representantes de órgãos públicos.
