The riverside communities of the Amazon have faced several challenges and social changes
since the emergence of Covid-19 and the pandemic period. In the community Divino Espírito
Santo, located on the banks of the Pacajá River, in the municipality of Portel- Pará, this reality
was no different. Given this, we started from the epistemological point of dealing with the
socioeconomic changes experienced by the community facing the Pandemic Covid-19,
methodologically the research assumed characteristics of an ethnographic investigation, using
participant observation, interviews, photographs, video recording, it can be observed that
socioeconomic changes in the community, both with family farmers, as well as residents who
worked directly or indirectly in the school, saw their routines being changed for other economic
activities within the scenario to which they found themselves during the pandemic. This work
is divided into four chapters that deal with themes about the emergence and the social relations
established in the community, the post-pandemic change, the double working day and female
leaders, and the function of the school within the community. In the transversality of this study,
the relationship of the ribeirinho with nature, educational teaching, and the social and political
aspects of the organization of the Divino Espírito Santo community are explored. |
