Pará ans Amapá are part of this context, since the relationship of reciprocity between these two states with Afuá is worked, discussed about the social, political and cultural aspects resulting from these relationships. Finally, a dedication to the Afuá alterity emphasizing the title of this project: “Afuá, the City of Waters”, a city understood by its geographical difference, fact which translated itself in the sociological studies related to the city known as “Marajoara Venice”. Este Trabalho de Conclusão de Curso trata dos aspectos fundamentais que possibilitaram a formação e organização do município afuaense, mais especificamente da Cidade de Afuá, traduzida em uma abordagem de sua historicidade em recortes que vão desde sua criação até os dias atuais, analisados nas questões inerentes à contextualização das relações sociais e suas implicações, e ainda nos aspectos positivos e negativos frutos das políticas públicas desenvolvidas no município, além da afirmação da cultura marajoara na construção de uma auto-identidade para os afuaenses, estas figuradas nas manifestações culturais praticadas na cidade de Afuá. O Pará e o Amapá são inseridos neste contexto, uma vez que é trabalhada a relação de reciprocidade destes Estados com o município afuaense, discutidos sobre os aspectos sociais, políticos e culturais resultantes destas relações.
