This qualitative research is based on authors that investigated the use of authentic materials in the classroom, the main goal was to analyze the contributions of the tv show “The Fresh Prince of Bel-Air” in English teaching with an activity made with five people between 20 and 24 years old. Data generation occurred through a questionnaire applied at the beginning of the research, a worksheet and a final questionnaire, in order to analyze the participants’ perceptions during the research. The meetings occurred remotely divided in two moments during the month of November 2021, and the data collected was analyzed using the interpretive method. Based on the results of this research, it was possible to observe that the tv series represent a teaching resource that encompasses both linguistic and cultural aspects, providing interactive activities to students. Although remote teaching presented its challenges during the research, it was noted that the series has a potential to dialog with the students' daily lives and also, open doors to stimulate English language teaching. Os recursos audiovisuais possuem um papel importante no ensino da língua inglesa devido a possibilidade de serem trabalhados como materiais didáticos, pois estes são responsáveis por promover um contato maior entre a realidade dos alunos e o contexto escolar. Alicerçada em autores que investigam o uso de materiais autênticos em sala de aula, esta pesquisa de caráter qualitativo teve como principal objetivo analisar as contribuições do uso da série de tv “The Fresh Prince of Bel-Air” no ensino da língua inglesa, a partir de uma atividade realizada com cinco jovens entre 20 a 24 anos. A geração de dados ocorreu por meio de um questionário aplicado no início da pesquisa, um worksheet (folha de atividade) e um questionário final, a fim de analisar as percepções dos participantes durante a pesquisa. Os encontros ocorreram de forma remota divididos em dois momentos durante o mês de novembro de 2021, e os dados coletados foram analisados através do método interpretativo. A partir dos resultados dessa pesquisa, foi possível observar que as séries de tv representam um recurso didático que engloba tanto os aspectos linguísticos como os culturais, proporcionando atividades interativas aos alunos.
