Resumo:
The concept of sustainability is linked to sustainable development in a way that meets the needs of the present generation without negatively interfering with future needs. Therefore, for a process to be considered sustainable, its entire structure must be thought for this concept, from the initial phase to the proper disposal of waste, as in the açaí agroindustry. Meanwhile, in the construction sector, there is a need to search for alternative materials. Thus, the purpose of this work is to analyze and study the properties of red ceramics with the incorporation of açaí stone ash replacing the ceramic mass in proportions of 5, 10 and 15% as part of its composition. Comparing with the literature and the reference ceramic mass, where there was no incorporation of acai ash, that is 0% of ash, through the production of sintered specimens at 1050 ° C, carrying out the technological tests , such as linear retraction, water absorption, apparent porosity, apparent specific mass, fire loss procedure, flexural strength and Xray diffraction, the results indicate satisfactory values for the production of ceramic products with the addition of 5% of ash of açaí lump in its composition. The results for 10% and 15% variation indicate that the processing of the clays and ash of the açaí stone must be changed to the effective elimination of the organic material as well as a modification of the methodology for a better study of the mechanical performance of the mass ceramics.
