Resumo:
The control of hygienic and sanitary conditions in ports and vessels plays an important role in the context of public health, since they are places of great movement of people and entry points for products and travelers, with a high potential to produce serious damage to public health , especially in periods of pandemic. In this context, this work aimed to carry out a diagnosis of the hygienic and sanitary conditions of the port infrastructure and passenger transport vessels in Santarém-PA, providing information related to the water supply system, sanitary sewage, solid waste management, routines and sanitation and disinfection practices for physical and sanitary facilities, as well as information on the adoption of measures to prevent and combat the Covid-19 pandemic caused by the Sars-Cov-2 virus. For this, consultations were carried out with the authorities responsible for the actions in those spaces, conducted applied in loco, questionnaires were prepared based on RDC Nº 72 of 2009 regarding the Technical Regulation aimed at promoting health in sanitary control ports located in the territory national, and vessels transiting through them and in Technical Note Nº 47, which deals with sanitary measures to be adopted in ports and vessels, against the cases of the new SARS-CoV-2 coronavirus (COVID-19), ambassadors of the National Health Surveillance Agency , the questionnaires were mandatory in the first half of 2021 in port terminals and 24 vessels in Santarém-PA, 12 with intracity and 12 intercity destinations. The results show that the water supply of the vessels, in its majority, is carried out by the supply system of the ports. For solid waste management. Most vessels do not segregate solid waste and solid waste disposal is carried out directly into water bodies and collectors are not enough and adequate. Regarding the sanitary effluents for the studied objects, the majority is discharged directly into the water body. The visual aspect of cleaning is between good and regular for the vessels and for the port. With regard to measures to combat the pandemic, compliance or partial assistance was observed in 42% of the intracity vessels and 25% of the intercity vessels. These results demonstrate that there is a need for improvements in the hygienic and sanitary conditions of the vessels and in the port area of Santarém-PA, considering the importance of this mode of transport in the region and that these facilities are essential for promoting health and containing the spread of diseases, especially in pandemic periods.
